Abbottabad: Deputy Commissioner Abbottabad Sarmad Saleem Akram has directed the authorities concerned to take effective legal action against illegal housing societies in the district and ensure protection of citizens’ interests.
Chairing a meeting on the issue, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the status of illegal housing schemes, notices issued, fines imposed and administrative action taken so far.
He directed revenue officials and the Land Use and Building Control Authority (LUBCA) teams to jointly inspect such schemes, verify land records, boundaries and land use, and initiate action against violations in accordance with the law.
Sarmad Saleem Akram said the crackdown was aimed at preventing illegal use of land and ensuring regulated and planned urban development in the district.
He also directed the departments concerned to improve coordination and regularly report progress on action against illegal housing societies.
