Sargodha: Deputy Commissioner Hussain Ahmed Raza Chaudhry said that Prime Minister of Pakistan Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif formally launched the petrol relief package for motorcycles, rickshaws, vehicles up to 800cc and other eligible citizens, therefore, the concerned officers should ensure effective and practical steps to deliver the benefits of the package to the deserving citizens.
He expressed this while chairing a meeting regarding the implementation and monitoring of the petrol relief package. The meeting was attended by all Additional Deputy Commissioners, Assistant Commissioners, President Petrol Pumps Association and concerned officers.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the Assistant Commissioners to strictly monitor all petrol pumps and ensure that there is no hindrance in the provision of petrol relief to eligible citizens. He clarified that negligence or non-cooperation in the implementation of the government package will not be tolerated under any circumstances and strict action will be taken against the violating petrol pump owners as per the law, which includes sealing the petrol pumps, registering cases and imposing heavy fines.
He further said that the public should be made aware of the procedure and registration of the petrol relief package as much as possible. Special counters and registration desks should be kept functional at petrol pumps so that owners of motorcycles, rickshaws, vehicles up to 800 cc and other eligible vehicles can easily complete their registration and get full benefit from the package. The Deputy Commissioner directed that the Assistant Commissioners and concerned officers should visit the petrol pumps and review the implementation of the relief package on the spot and resolve the problems faced by the citizens immediately.
