HYDERABAD:The Deputy Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad Zahid Hussain Rind on Monday chaired a meeting to review the arrangements made for the upcoming 7-day anti-polio drive commencing from October 2.
Addressing the meeting DC said that the success of the polio campaign depends on teamwork and to success the future of children was our responsibility. He said that making the polio drive successful was our national obligation which needs the collective efforts of all institutions in order to make Pakistan polio-free country.
He directed the officials of the health department to prepare a micro plan in the stipulated time and implement it completely to accomplish the target.
Addressing the meeting, SSP Shaheed Benazirabad Captain (Retd.) Hyder Raza said that during the polio campaign, police officials will be deputed at the transit points for the security of the polio teams.
District Health Officer and focal person of Polio Dr. Asadullah Dahri briefed the meeting regarding the seven-day national anti-polio campaign and said that 4,5,281 children under five years of age will be immunized in the district. As many as 53 Transit, 74 fixed and 30 SMT teams would discharge duties to cover 100 percent target of immunization.
He further informed that to make the campaign successful, all necessary arrangements including the micro plan, and training of polio teams are being completed.
Additional Director Social Welfare Muhammad Sabir Qureshi, District Manager PPHI Arif Abbasi, District Population Officer Riyaz Ahmed Shar, District Education Officer Masood Ahmad Sahto, DSP Police Habib-ur-Rehman Lashari, Deputy District Health Officer Dr. Amina Brohi, Information Officer Ijaz Ali Tivno, Assistant Commissioners of all talukas, UC Medical Officers and officers of other relevant departments were present on the occasion.
