Lahore

Lahore:Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali Ejaz on Monday directed the authorities concerned to ensure zero-waste conditions across Ravi Tehsil, improve parking and sanitation facilities at the railway station, and expedite the construction of additional blocks at Government Girls High School Wasanpura.

During his visit to Ravi Tehsil, the deputy commissioner inspected the parking facilities and cleanliness arrangements at the railway station and reviewed sanitation conditions in Wasanpura, including parks, main roads, streets and vacant plots.

Chief Officer Metropolitan Corporation Lahore Kaleem Yousaf and Assistant Commissioner Ravi Humaira Shah accompanied him. The DC directed the relevant departments to organise parking facilities and improve the cleanliness system at the railway station to facilitate passengers. He stressed that effective sanitation arrangements at public places were essential to providing a clean and convenient environment for citizens.

Inspecting parks, roads, streets and vacant plots in Wasanpura, he directed the authorities to remove

garbage from neglected open plots and other identified locations and maintain zero-waste conditions under the Suthra Punjab initiative. He observed that garbage accumulated in vacant plots could contribute to the spread of diseases, making their immediate cleaning necessary.

At Government Girls High School Wasanpura, Muhammad Ali Ejaz inspected classrooms and the site of additional blocks under construction. He directed the authorities to complete the construction work at the earliest and improve classroom cleanliness and the provision of basic facilities.

The DC also reviewed the performance of dengue surveillance teams working in the field in Wasanpura, particularly door marking and implementation of micro-plans. He directed the teams to ensure 100 per cent compliance with the prescribed procedures and intensify awareness campaigns to eliminate stagnant

water in air coolers and open containers. He said field teams were actively working to eliminate dengue and urged citizens to cooperate with the administration by removing stagnant water from their homes and surroundings.

DC Muhammad Ali Ejaz said that parks, roads and neighbourhoods would be kept clean to provide citizens with a healthier environment, while strict attention would be given to sanitation, public facilities and dengue prevention measures.

Meanwhile, DC Muhammad Ali Ejaz has directed assistant commissioners to inspect schools, ensure basic facilities, repair dangerous buildings, restore non-functional laboratories and computers, improve cleanliness,

and complete fire safety arrangements to provide students with a safe and quality learning environment.
