Hyderabad: Deputy Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad Abdul Samad Nizamani on Tuesday chaired a meeting of the District Coordination Committee on the National Action Plan Apex Committee at the DC Office Darbar Hall.
The meeting reviewed the progress on measures aimed at curbing encroachments, illegal and unauthorized fuel pumps, smuggling and hoarding, electricity theft, begging, traffic violations, smuggling dumps, non-payment of customs duties on vehicles and implementation of Point of Sale (POS) systems.
The Deputy Commissioner directed concerned officers to maintain coordinated efforts against illegal activities, ensure effective implementation of government directives and improve public facilities across the district.
He directed the Municipal Commissioner and Town Officers to accelerate anti-mosquito spray campaigns in their respective areas and ensure installation of cement covers over open drainage channels.
Officers of the Food Control Authority were directed to intensify action against those involved in the preparation and sale of substandard food items.
The Deputy Commissioner also directed Regional Transport Authority officials to conduct regular inspections of public transport vehicles and take strict action against operators charging excessive fares from passengers.
Officials from various departments briefed the committee on progress and activities in their respective areas.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Saddam Hussain Memon, Additional Director Social Welfare Murtaza Gohar, SP Motorway Police Muhammad Younis, Municipal Commissioner Abdul Razzaq Sheikh, Information Officer Aijaz Ali Teevino, Rescue 1122 In-charge Zeeshan Zardari, Assistant Commissioners, Municipal and Town Officers, and representatives of Health, Local Government, Police, Education, Population, Excise, Anti-Corruption and Zakat departments and other law-enforcement agencies attended the meeting.
