GUJRAT:Deputy Commissioner (DC) Khurram Shahzad visited various parts of the city along with Managing Director (MD) Suthra Punjab Gujrat Mujahid Abbas and Assistant Commissioner Gujrat Abdul Qadir Zarkoon to review sanitation and waste management arrangements.
According to an official source, the DC inspected Gulzar-e-Madina Road, Railway Road, Jinnah Chowk, Kutchery Chowk, Circular Road and Sargodha Road Railway Crossing and reviewed the cleanliness situation and waste management arrangements.
During the visit, officials identified points where garbage had accumulated. The DC directed the concerned officers to address shortcomings in sanitation arrangements and prepare an effective action plan to ensure timely collection, transportation and proper disposal of waste.
He also reviewed the attendance and field performance of Suthra Punjab sanitary workers and directed the officials to improve cleanliness standards, ensure timely removal of garbage and maintain cleanliness at public places.
The DC instructed the concerned officers to conduct regular field visits to monitor sanitation arrangements and ensure cleanliness across the city.
