TANK:Deputy Commissioner Hameedullah Khattak on Friday held a meeting with the representatives of PTCL regarding the latest and fastest internet installation in Tank City.
The meeting was informed that installation of state-of-the-art internet technology optical fiber network in Tank City with a total length of 8 km would be ensured.
It was told that the line was being laid with an initial capacity of 2000 connections covering areas from Traffic Point to Saber. Baba, Wazirabad Road, Station Road and adjoining areas.
This project is likely to provide the fastest connectivity to the people of Tank i.e. 200mbs speed (now barely 8mbs), fastest uninterrupted internet facility up to Smart TV etc. It would also open up new avenues and opportunities for growth.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the Internet was the most important need of the hour for the social and economic development of any region, adding the project would help provide faster internet service, facilitating the public of Tank as well as the students and especially the professionals.
He said that in the modern era human life is connected with the internet at every level. The fastest internet businesses, freelancing, schools, colleges, banks, ATMs as well as all government institutions and private organizations are currently using the internet.
