Peshawar:Deputy Commissioner Kohat Abdul Akram along with members of the district oversight committee, here on Friday visited the District Jail Kohat under the Chief Minister’s Awami agenda.
They inspected the Skills Development Center established in the jail, aimed at engaging young inmates in positive activities to enhance their abilities.
The DC also toured various barracks and reviewed the facilities being provided to the inmates.
During the visit, the deputy commissioner emphasized the importance of making inmates skilled, stating that the purpose of the jail was not just to punish but to rehabilitate inmates so they can play a positive role in society once they were released.
He also inquired about the inmates’ issues and instructed the concerned authorities to further improve the cleanliness and provision of basic facilities in the jail.
