NAWABSHAH:Deputy Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad Zahid Hussain Rind visited the National Disability & Development Forum (NDF) Rehabilitation Center for children with intellectual disabilities in Nawabshah on Tuesday.
The DC lauded the efforts of the NDF and said that the organization has rendered great services by providing rehabilitation services to children of Nawabshah at their doorstep. He termed the NDF Rehabilitation Center as a “God-gifted facility” to the children and assured his every possible support for the stability of the rehabilitation center in Nawabshah.
Earlier, Abid Lashari, President NDF, Tariq Hussain Channar, Program Manager, and Saira Lashari, Director NDF Rehabilitation Center, briefed the DC about the free rehabilitation services ensured in the Nawabshah Center, such as physiotherapy, psychotherapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, and non-formal education.
Lashari informed the DC that the facility was meant for 100 children and had been made possible with the help of the Department of Education & Professional Training (DEPD) Government of Sindh and other institutions. He urged the government and other relevant institutions to provide possible support to continue and expand the mentioned services in remote areas of Sindh.
The Deputy Commissioner also distributed clothes and shoes among needy children.
