Bahawalpur: Deputy Commissioner Zaheer Anwar Jappa here on Sunday visited several bazaars and directed the officers concerned to take stern action against encroachments without any further delay. The Deputy Commissioner accompanied by Municipal Corporation Bahawalpur, Chief Officer Mian Azhar Javed and others visited Fareed Gate, Shahi Bazaar, Chowk Bazaar, Dubai Chowk and other areas and expressed anguish over the encroachments in front of shops and at bazaars. He asked the shopkeepers to remove encroachments voluntarily for the beautification of historical bazaars of Bahawalpur. Later, the DC visited Miawaki Jungle at the bank of Sutlej river where under the auspices of the Punjab government, thousands of plants were planted. He inspected the arrangements to care the plants and irrigation to them. Additional Deputy Commissioner (General), Muhammad Ahmar was also present.
