RAWALPINDIThe Divisional Development Working Party (DDWP) on Wednesday gave revised approval to the 20 schemes including eleven for highways, six for public health and three schemes of the building department for the annual development program.
Presiding over the meeting of DDWP, Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Laiqat Ali Chatha said that the work on the schemes should not be stopped due to funding or any other reason.
He directed that the concerned Deputy Commissioners should be aware of the updated status of the schemes and before bringing them to this forum, the DCs themselves should be fully aware of the ground realities by visiting these schemes.
The Commissioner said that rigid pavement should be considered for the roads being built in remote areas, which helps in the durability of the roads as often the roads break down quickly due to the non-availability of repair funds.
On the occasion, one water supply and five drainage schemes were presented by Public Health.
According to the details, it inc
luded Drainage/Sewerage Schemes in Union Council Thatta Khalil Tehsil Taxila, Ward No. 5 and 7 of Wah Cantt, Lalazar Phase 1 and 2 Wah Cant, Budho to Garhwal while Union Councils 42, 43, 44, 45, 75, 77, 78 schemes of construction of streets, drainage and PCC streets.
Similarly, the revision of the scheme of laying water supply lines of Ward No. 1 to 6 Chaklala Cantonment Board was also approved.
Moreover, the building department presented a revision of 156.352 million for Government Associate College for Girls Jhata Hatial Rawalpindi, Construction of BS Block at Government Post Graduate College Boys Talagang and three Classrooms, one Exam Hall and construction of admin block and boundary wall was approved at Chaudhry Altaf Hussain High School Jhelum.
Schemes for the rehabilitation and improvement of three km long road from Neela Road to Dhaka village in Chakwal district, four km long road repair and construction from Natwala to Chiki Rangpur village in Kallar Kahar were presented by Highway Circle One.

milarly, Highway Division Murree presented revision of a 3.55 km long road in Chajna Road, Tehsil Kotli Sattian, 5.50 km long road from Chhajna to Begal via Chhaprian in Kotli Sattian, 07 km road construction and rehabilitation from Matur Road to Sahi Rajgan Tehsil Kahuta, 3.25 km long road in Dheri chowk to Alf Shah graveyard Chaklala Cantonment Rawalpindi, rehabilitation and construction of 05 km long road in Pir Khali Road Chawha Khalsa Kallar Syedan, repair of GHQ Gate Nazar Chowk 03 km road, reconstruction of Dani Dhera to Padhri Tehsil Suhawa in Jhelum 9.50 km long road was also approved.
Revised approval was given for the construction and repair of a 4.4 km road from Lab Mile Stop to Sultanpur Tehsil Hasan Abdal in Attock district and the repair and construction of a 12 km long road from Hisar to Katarian in Tehsil Hasan Abdal.
