Lahore: A significant meeting of the Divisional Development Working Party Committee (DDWPC) was convened on Monday under the leadership of Commissioner Lahore, Zaid bin Maqsood.
The meeting focused on reviewing and approving 19 new development schemes across various sectors. The new development schemes for Lahore, Sheikhupura, Nankana Sahib, and Kasur districts were evaluated.
The commissioner thoroughly examined the details of the proposed schemes, which spanned areas such as urban development, roads, higher and special education, and local government. Following a comprehensive review, the committee granted approval to all the presented projects, marking a crucial step in advancing regional development efforts.
The meeting featured presentations from Director Development Javed Rashid Chohan and Assistant Director Hafiz Muhammad Iqbal, who outlined the specifics of each scheme.
The meeting saw participation from Deputy Directors across all districts as well as representatives from pertinent departments, e
nsuring a broad perspective on the proposed projects.
Among the notable decisions, the committee approved ten new schemes for sewerage, drains, and water supply, which are set to enhance infrastructure in various towns managed by the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA). Additionally, the development project for Govt Kulliyat ul Banat College received approval, reflecting a commitment to improving educational facilities.
However, Commissioner Zaid bin Maqsood called for more detailed information on the road schemes planned for Kasur and Lahore, granting them conditional approval pending further review. He stressed the importance of stringent quality control and the timely completion of all development projects, underscoring his commitment to ensuring that the schemes meet high standards and are delivered as scheduled.
