Dera ismail khan: The district administration has launched a crackdown on illegal and unapproved housing schemes across Dera Ismail Khan, with authorities deciding to seal their offices, remove unauthorised structures and register cases against owners and developers.
The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Hikmatullah Wazir and attended by additional deputy commissioners, assistant commissioners, tehsildars, officials of tehsil municipal administrations and authorised officials of local government.
The meeting decided that comprehensive action would be taken against housing schemes operating without approval, registration or a valid No Objection Certificate (NOC). Their offices would be sealed, while unauthorised constructions and other illegal structures would be removed or demolished.
The administration also said it would register cases against owners, developers and promoters found violating the rules, making it clear that no concessions would be given to violators.
The administration has also banned the display of advertising boards, banners and hoardings promoting illegal housing schemes, as well as their marketing through social media.
The district administration urged upon the citizens to avoid investing in unapproved housing schemes or buying plots in such projects. It advised prospective buyers to verify the legal status and NOC of any housing project from the relevant TMA or competent authority before making any payment or entering into a transaction.
The deputy commissioner said the operation would continue without discrimination until all illegal housing schemes were dealt with. He stressed that protection of citizens’ rights and enforcement of the law remained the administration’s priority.
