DERA ISMAIL KHAN:The district police claimed to have seized a non-custom paid (NCP) car and other items worth Rs 3.7 million in the limits of Daraban, Dera Town, and Yarik police stations here on Sunday.
According to a Police spokesman, On the direction of Regional Police Officer Nasir Mehmood Satti and District Police Officer Dera Abdul Rauf Babar Qaisrani a team of police led by SDPO Saddar Circle Saleem Baloch along with SHO Faheem Abbas seized an NCP car on Maddi Kulachi road in the limits of Dera Town police station.
The police team stopped the car during snap-checking at its jurisdiction and took the car into custody after it was found to NCP and arrested the driver of the car identified as Gul Muhammad resident of Zafarabad Colony.
The estimated worth of the car is said to be Rs 2.5 million.
Later, the police handed over the NCP car to the customs authorities for further legal action.
Similarly, during another action, Yarik police recovered NCP items worth 8 lakh rupees.
According to the details, SDPO Saddar Circle Muhammad Saleem Baloch along with the Special Task Team during checking at Yarik Toll Plaza in the limits of Yarik police station, NCP goods worth 8 lakhs of rupees from different vehicles including 30 bags of dry milk, 03 bags of soap, 07 bags of Irani Shopper, 48 boxes of Iranian cheese, 03 carton toffees were seized by the police and handed over to the customs authorities as per the rules.
Meanwhile, SDPO Daraban Circle Malik Anees Al Hasan along with SHO Daraban Attaullah Khan during checking seized 08 sacks of Irani dry milk, 04 bags of Irani shopper, 05 carton shampoo and 125 sticks of cigarettes from vehicle number BSA-728 coming from Quetta. The value of the seized NCP goods is said to be more than 04 lakh rupees.
The police handed over the officers to the customs authorities as per the rules for further legal action.
