PESHAWAR:The 75th annual congregation (Urs) in connection with birth anniversary of Sufi scholar and renowned religious seminary Hazrat Zinda Peer was being held on Saturday in Ghamkol Sharif at district Kohat.
Thousands of devotees from all over the country participated. The Urs of Zinda Peer was supervised by Pir Masoom Shah while Ulema included Pir Habibullah Shah, Peer Syed Mohammad Noorani Miyan, Syed Sajjad Hussain, Syed Munawar Hussain, Sahibada Mohammad Hassam and others addressed the congregation.
The speakers in his speeches highlighted the services rendered by Zinda Pir in spreading Islamic spiritual preaching of Silsila-e-Naqshbandia. During the Urs, several religious functions including lectures, naat khwani, Khatm-e-Khwajgaan, and gatherings of Zikr Allah were being held.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Kohat, Furqar Ashraf in his visit to Ghamkol said that visitors were our guests and any inconvenience would be resolved on priority basis. He said that foolproof security arrangements and establishment of a control room have been made for peacefully observing the Urs of Zinda Pir.
Every year, scores of devotees and visitors from all parts of the country travel to Ghamkol to attend the Urs and offer special prayers.
