DHO visits BHU Giloti, directs staff to improve performance within a week

District

Dera ismail khan: District Health Officer (DHO), Dera Ismail Khan Dr. Said Muhammad Mahsud has directed the staff of Basic Health Unit (BHU) Giloti to improve their performance, particularly during evening and night shifts, within a week following complaints from the local community about inadequate healthcare services.

During his visit to the health facility, the DHO held a meeting with community representatives, members of the welfare society and Primary Healthcare Management Unit (PMU) staff, including Lady Health Visitors (LHVs), to review the issues affecting service delivery.

He listened to the concerns raised by the community and briefed participants on the healthcare services available at the facility.

Dr. Mahsud gave the entire PMU staff a one-week deadline to demonstrate improvement in their performance, with particular emphasis on ensuring effective coverage of evening and night duties. He directed the facility in-charge to submit a performance report and recommend appropriate action of non-performing staff, if their performance remained unsatisfactory after the deadline.

The DHO also informed community members about the range of services being provided at the BHU. Expressing satisfaction with the briefing, the representatives pledged to conduct door-to-door awareness campaigns to encourage local residents to benefit from the available healthcare facilities.

Reviewing the availability of medicines, Dr. Mahsud noted that sufficient stocks were available at the facility. He directed the in-charge to maintain proper stock and distribution records and ensure that medicines were provided to poor and deserving patients. He further advised the in-charge to contact the DHO’s main store whenever medicine stocks approached depletion to ensure uninterrupted supplies.
