DIG Faisal hears citizens’ complaints at open court

Lahore

LAHORE:Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Operations Faisal Kamran on Tuesday heard citizens’ complaints during an open court at his office and directed the concerned officers to take immediate action to address their grievances.

During the open court, citizens raised complaints related to tenancy disputes, mortgaged property and business fraud.

Faisal Kamran said delays in the provision of justice to citizens would not be tolerated, adding that Lahore Police had a zero-tolerance policy towards incidents of violence against women. He said timely redressal of public complaints was a fundamental responsibility of the police, while resolving citizens’ problems and strengthening public trust remained the department’s top priorities.

The DIG said open courts were aimed at providing citizens with direct access to police officials, ensuring that their concerns were heard and facilitating prompt relief. He added that action on applications submitted by citizens at police stations was being regularly monitored.

He directed all station house officers (SHOs) to remain available at their respective police stations daily from 3pm to 5pm to hear public complaints.

Citizens who did not receive redressal of their complaints at police stations could visit his office between 1pm and 3pm, he said, reaffirming that resolving public grievances and ensuring justice remained a priority for Lahore Police.
