DIG Faisal listens to citizens’ complaints at open court

Lahore

LAHORE: Lahore Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Operations Faisal Kamran has directed police officers to take immediate legal action on citizens’ complaints during an open court, ensuring timely redressal of public grievances.

According to a spokesperson, during the open court, the DIG issued directions to station house officers (SHOs) for the timely resolution of inheritance disputes, maintenance of law and order, and prompt legal action in cases of harassment, domestic disputes and other social issues.

Faisal Kamran said that no leniency would be shown in cases involving harassment or violations of women’s rights, adding that providing justice, protection and timely legal guidance to citizens was a primary responsibility of Lahore Police.

He said he personally listened to public complaints through open courts six days a week from 1: 00 pm to 3: 00 pm, providing citizens with direct access to police leadership.

The DIG urged citizens to inform him directly if their complaints were not addressed at any police station. He warned that negligence or delays in dealing with public grievances would not be tolerated and the concerned officers would be held accountable.

Citizens attending the open court described the initiative as an effective platform for prompt redressal of complaints and legal assistance.
