Dir lower DC vows to resolve journalists’ problems

DIR LOWER: The newly posted Deputy Commissioner of Lower Dir, Muhammad Arif Khan has said that solid measures would be taken for resolving of journalists associated with the local press club on a priority basis.

In a meeting with representative delegations of journalists from the District Press Club Timergara and Chakdara Press Club here Thursday, the DC appreciated the role of local journalists, stating that the contribution of media workers in highlighting public issues cannot be overlooked.

During the meeting, the journalists welcomed the Deputy Commissioner and discussed in detail the issues faced by the public.

They highlighted important issues such as the Timergara Beautification Project, the slow pace of construction of the Talash Bypass, the implementation of official price lists, delays in the construction of Timergara Park and ensuring the attendance of staff in government offices.

In the meeting, suggestions were made regarding better coordination with the media, monthly media briefings on gov
ernment performance, and the holding of open courts at the tehsil level.

They also considered various suggestions for solving public issues, and the Deputy Commissioner expressed his commitment to taking practical steps to address these issues in collaboration with journalists.
