PESHAWAR: Under the provincial government’s policy Interaction with Civil Society, Deputy Commissioner Dir Lower Muhammad Fawad held meeting with President Dir Chamber of Commerce Noor Alam Badshah and discussed in detail promoting local handicraft besides other steps to boost local trade.
The meeting was also attended by Senior Vice President of the Dir Lower Chamber of Commerce Khalid Iqbal, Haji Hussainullah, Executive Members Abdullah, Sajjad Ahmed, delegation of Dir Chamber and Commerce.
In the meeting, the delegation gave a detailed briefing to the Chamber and Commerce.
The delegation thanked Deputy Commissioner Dir Lower for listening to their problems and giving assurance for their solutions.
In response, the Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Fawad assured all kinds of cooperation from the district administration. The Deputy Commissioner instructed the delegation of the Chamber of Commerce to organize a meeting with the Department of Social Welfare so that the local handicrafts can be shown at the national and international levels.
The President of Dir Chamber of Commerce assured that the handicrafts produced at the local level of Dir Lower will be exported to other cities of the country including Islamabad, Karachi and Quetta.
He said in this connection an exhibition would also be organized wherein such handicrafts would be put on display so that the skillful work of the local people could be highlighted and enable them to earn livelihood in a dignified manner.
