Khanewal: The district administration accelerated efforts to revamp and upgrade the General Bus Stand in Kabirwala to improve local infrastructure and enhance facilities for passengers and transporters.
According to a spokesperson on Thursday, the development plan was reviewed meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Hina Arshad, where officials thoroughly discussed the proposed design and overall scope of the upgradation project.
Under the project, the main bus stand building will be reconstructed, the drainage system improved, and the mosque restored. The initiative also features the development of a modern waiting area, a park lawn, a feature wall, dedicated cargo spaces, and proper parking sheds for buses and wagons.
To ensure public safety, the bus stand will be equipped with closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras, a modern security system, and upgraded firefighting arrangements. Additionally, the infrastructure of government-owned shops surrounding the bus stand will be improved as part of the broader development initiative.
Deputy Commissioner Hina Arshad directed the concerned authorities to finalize the project design promptly and ensure that ground work begins at the earliest.
The meeting was attended by the Assistant Commissioner Kabirwala, the Deputy Director of Development, and officers of the Municipal Committee.
