District peace committee discusses Rabiul Awwal programs

SARGODHA:A meeting of the district peace committee was held here on Friday with Deputy Commissioner Capt (retd) Nadeem Nasir in the chair, which discussed in detail arrangements for holy month Rabiul Awwal programmes.

Additional Deputy Commissioner General Umar Farooq, officers from various departments including police, FESCO, PTCL, Sui gas, corporation, health, Rescue-1122 and Civil Defence were also present.

The deputy commissioner said that Ashra Shan-e-Rehmatul-Lil-Alameen was being observed with religious reverence and devotion. He said that the purpose of celebrating the birthday of Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad(PBUH) was to remind the faithful that eternal salvation lied in follow in the footsteps of the last Prophet PBUH of Allah Almighty.

The DC said that the lighting and patchwork on the routes of the Milad processions had been completed while all planning had been done to improve security and traffic flow during the Milad processions.

Ulema and members of the district peace committee promised full cooperation with the district administration in maintaining peace and harmony in the district.

Later, special prayers were also offered for progress and prosperity of the country.
