Distt admin to implement smart traffic plan to ease congestion

Multan: The district administration has decided to implement a smart traffic plan on congested roads and busy intersections to effectively address the city’s growing traffic issues. The decision was taken in a meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Muhammad Nauman Siddiqui, which was attended by senior officers of the district administration and traffic police. The deputy commissioner assigned special tasks to district departments and traffic police to ensure smooth traffic flow across the city. During the meeting, Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Kashif Aslam briefed the participants on current traffic management measures and ongoing enforcement operations. The deputy commissioner directed the traffic police to strictly ensure compliance with traffic signals and helmet laws, emphasizing zero tolerance for violations. It was also decided that adjustments in school timings would be considered to manage traffic pressure during peak hours. The deputy commissioner stressed that coordinated efforts and smart plann
ing was essential to reduce congestion on major arteries and crowded intersections. Briefing the meeting, the CTO informed that traffic in the city was being effectively managed in three shifts, while strict action was underway against violations at all major roads and intersections. The deputy commissioner reiterated that the smart traffic plan would be enforced in a phased manner, with the objective of ensuring safer roads, smoother traffic flow, and improved convenience for citizens.
