SARGODHA:District Police Officer (DPO) Muhammad Tariq Aziz chaired a meeting at his office on Friday to review the steps taken by the department to stop woman harassment.
In-charge woman harassment cell Hajra Nawaz briefed the DPO about the cell’s performance in September. She said that the harassment cell received total 188 calls in the previous month, out of which 15 were of emergency nature. The cell responded immediately and provided relief to the callers. The harassment cell also registered cases against harassers on 135 calls.
Hajra said that the cell also received 28 bogus calls and necessary legal action was taken against the callers.
The DPO said that help desks for women were working actively at almost all police stations to give relief to harassment victims.
