BUREWALA: Two notorious dacoits were killed while a DSP was injured during an exchange of fire with police in the premises of Karampur police station on Wednesday.
According to police sources, DSP Sadar Circle Faisalabad Rana Waseem Akhtar along with team reached Mouza Burana of Karampur police station to arrest notorious dacoits Waqas Shah and Gulfam Shah of Kali Gang.
The police team accompanied by the local police reached Mouza Burana when the criminals managed to escape from the scene and started firing on the police party.
The police also retaliated in self-defence and the exchange of firing continued for half an hour.
During the encounter, DSP Rana Waseem Akhtar sustained bullet injuries while the dacoits died at the spot.
The criminals of Kali Gang were wanted to police in various heinous crimes including murder, attempt to murder, robbery and other crimes, police sources added.
