ISLAMABAD:Ministry of Economic Affairs, Economic Affairs Division (EAD) Wednesday briefed the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Executive Board Members on the disastrous floods in Pakistan and the government’s response and relief measures.
The Pakistani delegation organized a roundtable meeting with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Executive Board members, which was attended by 9 executive directors, representing more than 40 countries, said a press release issued here.
During roundtable meeting with ADB Executive Board Members, Secretary EAD, Dr. Kazim Niaz made a comprehensive presentation on the catastrophic floods in Pakistan, the government’s response, relief measures and future challenges emanating from the situation.
The secretary EAD stressed upon the board members to provide maximum assistance to Pakistan in this hour of need, both in form of budgetary support as well as project that contribute to the proposed rehabilitation strategy.
He also requested for their enhancing investment portfolio in Pakistan, particularly in the infrastructure, housing and tourism sectors.
