SARGODHA: A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Education department and private school management association to provide education to deserving students in the division.
In this regard, a formal ceremony was held at Division Public School and College main campus here on Thursday.
In the ceremony, Commissioner Maryam Khan, Deputy Commissioner Capt(r) Nadeem Nasir, ADCG Umar Farooq, CEO Education Sardar Akhtar Khan Baloch, President Private School Management Association Sardar Asif and Irfan Akbar Chaudhry, students, parents and philanthropists.
According to the MoU, the children who were not able to get education due to less resources would be get admitted in more than 300 member schools of the Private School Management Association in a phase wise. Apart of this, these children would be given free education up to matriculation, books, uniform and other expenses including transportation facilities would also be paid with the support of philanthropists.
Initially, 25 such children would get admission in three private schools.
Speaking at the event, Commissioner Maryam Khan said that it was the responsibility of the state to provide education resources to children and the state was performing these duties well, while the role of private educational institutions in this regard is also commendable.
She said that committees will be formed at tehsil, district and division level for monitoring selected children.
The commissioner thanked the President Private School Management Association Sardar Asif and his other members for their full cooperation with the education department.
President Private School Management Association Sardar Asif and parents also addressed the ceremony and highly appreciated this revolutionary project of the district administration.
Earlier, a memorandum of understanding was signed between Chief Executive Officer Education Authority Sardar Akhtar Baloch and heads of various private educational institutions in this regard.
