PESHAWAR:As per the directives of the Peshawar High Court (PHC), Deputy Commissioner Chitral on Monday chaired a meeting of concerned departments and declared encroachment and construction on river banks dangerous.
The meeting observed that the encroachments, especially the constructions, create obstructions downstream of the river and could be extremely dangerous during heavy rains in the summer season.
The meeting, while emphasizing clearing the river banks from encroachment decided to issue notices to concerned persons and owners of the buildings to remove their construction voluntarily otherwise legal action would be taken against them.
