Excise clerk arrested in Attock bribery trap

Attock: The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) arrested a clerk of the Excise and Taxation Office, Attock, during a trap raid for allegedly accepting a bribe in connection with the transfer of vehicle ownership, officials said.



The accused, Hamza Abbas, was arrested during an operation conducted by ACE Attock Circle Officer Jahanzeb Khan and his team under the supervision of Section 30 Magistrate Abdul Khan.



According to the ACE, Rs 8,000 in alleged bribe money was recovered from the clerk during the raid.



A first information report (FIR) has been registered at the Anti-Corruption Establishment police station in Attock, and further investigation is underway.
