Islamabad: The export of footwear from the country witnessed a decrease of 1.17 percent during the first two months of the current financial year (2026-27) as compared to the exports of the corresponding months of last year.
The country exported footwear worth US$ 33.210 million during July-August 2026-27 as opposed to the export of US$ 33.604 million during July-August 2025-26, according to the data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).
Among the footwear products, the exports of leather footwear witnessed an increase of 1.24 percent, from US$ 27.271 million to US$ 27.610 million during the months under review.
The exports of canvas footwear also increased by 58.11 percent by going up from US$ 0.430 million last year to US$ 0.680 million, the PBS data revealed.
However, the exports of all other footwear decreased by 16.66 percent to US$ 4.919 million from US$ 5.903 million in the same months last year.
Meanwhile, year-on-year basis, the footwear exports witnessed a nominal decline of 0.01 percent during the month of August 2026 as compared to the same month of last year.
The footwear exports during August 2026 were recorded at $16.019 million against the export of $16.020 million in August 2025.
During the period under review, the export of leather and canvas footwear appreciated by 3.82 and 269.05 percent, respectively. However, the export of all other footwear dipped 20.21 percent.
On a month-on-month basis, the exports of footwear commodities came down by 6.82 percent during August 2026 as compared to the exports of $17.191 million in July 2026, the PBS data revealed.
On a month-on-month basis, the exports of leather and canvas footwear decreased by 10.91 and 26.57 percent, respectively. However, exports of all other footwear increased by 23.92 percent.
