Faisalabad orators selected

FAISALABAD:Faisalabad orators (Muqarrar/Muqarrarah) have been selected after a thrilling declamation held at Metropolitan Corporation Hall, here on Wednesday.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) District Education Authority (DEA) Iftikhar Khan said that as many as 480 students of matric level including 344 students of government schools and 136 students of private schools took part in orators’ competitions. However, during final round, the judges declared Abdur Rehman, a student of Divisional Public School & College (DPSC) male orator Faisalabad (Muqarrar Faisalabad) whereas Anzal Iftikhar, a student of Spirit Grammar School System won the title of female orator Faisalabad (Muqarrarah Faisalabad).

Divisional Commissioner Muhammad Shahid Niaz and Deputy Commissioner Imran Sheikh witnessed the final round and decorated the winners with Turban and Shawl respectively.

He said that the event was jointly organized by District Administration and District Education Authority and the final competition was held on Urdu topics. DPSC student Abdur Rehman and Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, a student of Government Boys High School 455-GB participated in male orator competition whereas Ayesha Siddiqa, a student of Government Girls High School 208/R-B and Anzal Iftikhar of Spirit Grammar School System faced each other in female contest.

He said that turban and shawl were also gifted to the runner-up students whereas cash prize of Rs.20,000 and Rs.15,000 to the teachers of each winner and runner-up respectively.

Speaking on the occasion, Divisional Commissioner congratulated the students, their parents and teachers and said that such events were imperative to excel capabilities of the young generation.

The Deputy Commissioner said that co-curricular activities were as imperative for the students as curriculum because these activities enabled the students to face challenge and prove their mettle.

Additional Deputy Commissioner General (ADCG) Faisal Sultan, Assistant Commissioner (AC) City Waqas Safdar, DO Secondary Education Malik Manzoor, Assistant Director Education Sardar Sajid, former honorary DC Faisalabad Marwa Basra, Incharge District Emergency Operational Center Muhammad Sadiq and others were also present on the occasion.
