SIALKOT: A farmers’ gathering was organised at Sadarpura of Bajawat area in Sialkot under the auspices of the Department of Agriculture (Extension).
Addressing the gathering, Assistant Director (AD) Agriculture Extension Sialkot Jawahar Ali informed farmers about modern research, proportionate use of fertilisers, prohibited poisons for better production of paddy crop.
The AD Agriculture Extension said that farmers should adopt recommendations of experts for better production, promote the use of modern agricultural machinery.
He urged the farmers to avoid burning paddy residues after harvesting the paddy crop, doing so causes smog on which action can be taken, while setting fires also affects soil fertility.
