ISLAMABAD: A tragic incident happened on Tuesday in Shangla District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, when father drowned while attempting to rescue his son trapped in a malfunctioning chairlift.
According to a private news channel, the incident occurred when father was trying to save his son who was stuck in the chairlift. However, the rope broke mid-crossing over the Indus River, leading to the father’s fall into the turbulent waters.
Rescue officials reported that the trapped child was successfully rescued by local residents. Unfortunately, the body of the father has yet to be recovered from the river. Rescue teams and police are actively engaged in a search operation to locate the drowned man.
