Faisalabad:Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) and Kay and Emms (K and M) Private Limited have inked an MoU to implement the IT project of Cyberabad on a permanent and sustained basis.
Cyberabad is the “Brainchild” of Dr Khurram Tariq, President FCCI to transform the textile city in to the regional hub of IT by equipping competent and qualified IT graduates with practical skills and expertise to exploit GenAI (Generative Artificial Intelligence) to introduce futuristic vision in diverse sectors of the economy and other segments.
The FCCI in collaboration with K and M will hire highly qualified faculty to provide much needed training to the young IT graduates to implement their theoretic knowledge in the applied format.
Vice President Hajji Muhammad Aslam Bhalli and Azhar Chaudhry signed the MOU on behalf of FCCI and K and M.
Hajji Aslam Bhalli termed the conceived idea of Dr Khurram Tariq as historic and epoch-making which would not only open new avenues of progress and prosperity by ut
ilizing the skills and expertise of the young generation but also have far-reaching impacts to the economic and scientific landscape of Pakistan.
He was optimistic that participants of this course would introduce unique and innovative ideas in different and diverse sectors of the economy to bring about a qualitative and quantitative improvement in the overall system by providing an internationally compliant IT eco-system.
He said that surplus trained youth could also be exported abroad to earn precious foreign exchange for the country.
Muhammad Azhar Chaudhry said that the Cyberabad IT project program has been initiated as the Social Corporate Responsibility of K and M. ‘It would bring a key role in providing a basic infrastructure for the exploitation of AI’, he said and added that basic and specialized courses would be arranged for the students with a focus and their practical application.
He said that Dr Khurram Tariq has not only floated the idea of Cyberabad but also taken practical steps to continue
it on a permanent basis.
He said that in the first phase this project would continue for three years and further decisions would be taken after evaluating its practical results and benefits.
He said that an orientation seminar is scheduled to be held on September 28, 2024 (Saturday) to inform the students and the business community about the basic structure and targets of this program.
