ISLAMABAD: Director General of the Federal Directorate of Immunization (FDI) Dr. Musa Khan and Gates Foundation Senior Program Officer Emaad Hassan have discussed ongoing collaboration and strategic priorities to strengthen Pakistan’s Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI).
During a courtesy visit, Dr. Musa Khan welcomed Emaad Hassan and appreciated the Gates Foundation’s continued support for Pakistan’s immunization programme.
The meeting reviewed key areas of the foundation’s engagement in Pakistan, including the Joint Country Action Planning process, progress towards the introduction and scale-up of the human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine, and strategic investments to strengthen the national immunization system.
Both sides exchanged views on national immunization priorities, ongoing initiatives and opportunities to enhance cooperation between the FDI and the Gates Foundation.
They underscored the importance of coordinated planning, strategic partnerships and sustained investment to improve immunization coverage, address gaps in service delivery and ensure equitable access to life-saving vaccines across the country.
