FAISALABAD:Federal Ombudsman of Pakistan has arranged an awareness session at Government Degree College Samanabad and briefed its students about their rights and the mechanism for obtaining free and speedy justice against maladministration in federal government departments.
Spokesman for Regional Office said here on Thursday that the session was held on the directives of Federal Ombudsman Naveed Kamran Baloch and was led by Senior Investigation Officer Kamran Maqsood, who explained the institution’s mandate, functions and procedures for addressing public complaints against federal government organizations.
Addressing the students, Kamran Maqsood said that Federal Ombudsman played an important role in providing speedy and free-of-cost relief against maladministration in federal departments.
He explained that the institution offered an accessible platform for people seeking redressal of grievances without having to bear the expense of legal proceedings.
He also informed the students about the procedures for filing complaints, explaining that citizens could submit their grievances against federal government departments through postal mail, online channels or by visiting the relevant office in person.
During session, the students were briefed about the range of federal organizations falling within the ombudsman’s jurisdiction including Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO), Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO), National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA), Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA), Pakistan Railways and other federal institutions.
The officer encouraged the students to share the information with their families and other members of society so that more citizens could become aware of the available complaint-redressal mechanism and benefit from the institution’s services.
