FAISALABAD:Chief Executive Engineer Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) Engineer Abid Rasheed directed all officers and employees to ensure continuous monitoring of operational conditions
across the region and take all necessary precautionary measures for the safe and uninterrupted supply of electricity as protection of human lives, animals and property from electrical hazards is foremost responsibility of the company.
In his message to consumers,the chief said that even a minor negligence in dealing with electricity could lead to serious accidents and loss of precious lives. Therefore, no negligence or lapse in ensuring electrical safety would be tolerated, he added.
He emphasized that human life was irreplaceable and the responsibility of the FESCO extended beyond providing a safe electricity supply to educating consumers about its proper and cautious use.
He urged the consumers to get the internal wiring of their homes, shops and other buildings regularly inspected by licensed and qualified electricians and immediately replace defective, worn-out or exposed wires.
He advised consumers against overloading electrical sockets, switchboards and extension boards with appliances beyond their prescribed capacity, stressing that proper earthing and the installation and functioning of safety circuit breakers should also be checked by qualified electricians.
