FAISALABAD: FIA Faisalabad has arrested three officers of Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) on charge of their involvement in overbilling and embezzlement in company’s revenue of millions of rupees.
According to FIA spokesman, FESCO officer Muhammad Ameer during his appointment as Superintending Engineer made overbilling of 15.8 million units in the electricity bill of a mill whereas accused Ghulam Abbas during his appointment as Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) and accused Shafiq Ahmad during his appointment as Meter Inspector made overbilling of 59738 units in the electricity bills of more than 30 consumers.
After receiving complaints, the FIA arrested these three FESCO officers and locked them behind bars for further investigation, he added.
