ISLAMABAD:Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Shaukat Tarin was given detailed presentation on the progress of Kamyab Pakistan Program (KPP).
While presiding a Steering Committee meeting of Kamyab Pakistan Program (KPP), the minister was informed that KPP was going successfully and applications for the award of loans were being received through SMS.
Adviser to the Prime Minister on overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, Ayub Afridi, Secretary Finance, Secretary Overseas Pakistanis and HRD, President Bank of Punjab, Chairman SECP, CEO Akhuwat Foundation and other senior officers attended the meeting, said a news statement issued here.
The meeting was informed that loans were being disbursed among deserving applicant after meeting the requirements, the statement said.
It was apprised that loans of more than Rs. 2.5 billion had been disbursed whereas small loans for business, farmers and construction of houses were included under the program.
Finance Minister, Shaukat Tarin appreciated all the stakeholders for their contributions in the success of the Kamyab Pakistan Programme and directed for the expansion of Kamyab Pakistan Programme throughout Pakistan.
The meeting also discussed inclusion of prospective Pakistani migrant workers into the programme and directed the stakeholders to frame modalities for the disbursement of interest free loans to Pakistani overseas workers.
The Minister stressed that Kamyab Pakistan Program was a milestone project, having exponential potential to transform the lives of the lower strata of the society.
The participants of the meeting assured the finance minister of their full cooperation and participation in making the program successful.
