Layyah: The first-ever divisional-level literary recognition ceremony in the history of Layyah will be held in February.
The event is being organized jointly by the Council of Research and Literature, the Department of Information and Culture Layyah, and Superior University.
Assistant District Public Prosecutor Ghulam Mustafa met Deputy Director Public Relations Layyah, Nisar Ahmad Khan, to discuss arrangements for the ceremony. It was decided that outstanding writers in three genres poetry, history, and prose will be honored with awards.
Authors from across the division have been invited to submit two copies of their published works from 2023-2024 to the District Information Office Layyah by 25 January.
The submissions will be reviewed by relevant jury panels, which will finalize results in the first ten days of February. Award distribution will follow in a formal ceremony.
Deputy Director Public Relations Nisar Ahmad Khan appreciated the efforts of Executive Director Council of Research and Literature (CORL) Ghulam Mustafa, terming the initiative a significant step toward the promotion of knowledge and literature. He said Layyah has always been a cradle of literary activity and such programs will encourage reading habits and inspire the younger generation to engage with books and literature.
