Islamabad:The First Women’s K2 Expedition Team has made history by successfully summiting K2, the world’s second-highest peak at 8,611 meters.
According to a private news channel, the expedition was led by the renowned mountaineer Sirbaz Khan, with the team braving harsh weather conditions to achieve their goal.
Despite the challenges, the climbers remained determined, showcasing their resolve and commitment.
The team dedicated their success to the Pakistan Army and the people of Pakistan. The team leader Sirbaz Khan, expressed deep gratitude to the nation and congratulated everyone on this historic milestone.
‘This landmark achievement was accomplished under the support and guidance of the Pakistan Army,’ said Sirbaz.
Sultana Niaz, a team member from Shamshal in Gilgit-Baltistan, shared her elation at hoisting the national flag atop K2 and thanked the Pakistan Army for their vital support.
The team, which included Sirbaz Khan, Sultana Niaz, Imtiaz Sadpara, and Ashraf Sadpara, received a warm welcome fr
om the locals and Pakistan Army upon their return to Skardu.
In Gilgit, the Commander of FCNA met with the team, congratulated them, and presented certificates of appreciation.
