MUZAFFARGARH: Assistant Commissioner Jatoe Shoaib Bosan on Sunday said that low lying areas of tehsil Jatoe along bank of River Indus have been vacated as precautionary measure against possible flood threat.
“Although the river is flowing within its boundary(flow passage), water could affect surrounding areas,” said Assistant Commissioner Jatoe Shoaib Bosan.
In a statement, he informed that Landi Patafi, Jhughiwala and Mochiwala have been vacated. He stated that the local population was safe and secure. He urged people to avoid spreading rumours as it could create panic. Any development related to the flood situation would be communicated through media, he maintained.
In Jatoe, four flood relief camps, Landi Patafi, Rampur Doim, Bait Daryaie, and Jhuggiwala were established. Different facilities including food and medicines were being given in the camps. The administration was employing all possible resources for assistance of the victim families.
