Dera ismail khan: The Food Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has intensified market inspections in Dera Ismail Khan to monitor the availability of essential food commodities, ensure compliance with official regulations and maintain the supply of subsidized flour to consumers.
Under the supervision of District Food Controller Muhammad Azam Khan, Foodgrain Inspector Muhammad Sajid Khan and Assistant Food Controllers Khaliq Ur Rehman and Maheen Shahid conducted inspections of various markets in the district.
The officials also inspected government flour sale points to review the availability, distribution and sale of subsidised flour and ensure that consumers were receiving the commodity in accordance with prescribed procedures.
During the visits, the inspection teams monitored market activities and checked compliance with the directives of the Food Department.
District Food Controller Muhammad Azam Khan said that regular inspections were being carried out to ensure transparency in the distribution of essential commodities, prevent irregularities and safeguard the interests of consumers.
He directed the field staff to maintain close monitoring of markets and government flour sale points and ensure prompt action against any violation of official instructions.
The Food Department would continue its monitoring activities in coordination with the relevant authorities to ensure the smooth supply of essential food items and facilitate the public, he added.
