ATTOCK:The Food Department organised a ceremony to mark World Food Safety Day, followed by an awareness walk to highlight the importance of food safety and the provision of safe and hygienic food.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Municipal Services Anil Saeed led the awareness walk, speaking on the occasion, Anil Saeed emphasised that the provision of safe and quality food is essential for protecting public health.
He said the Punjab Food Authority (PFA) was taking various measures to improve food quality and raise public awareness about food safety.
He stressed that hygiene and sanitation standards must be maintained at every stage of food preparation, storage and distribution to ensure that food reaching consumers is safe for consumption.
He further urged the relevant departments to fulfil their responsibilities effectively to ensure the availability of safe and quality food to the public and to promote awareness about food safety.
