SKARDU:Chief Election Commissioner of GB Union of Journalists, senior journalist Imtiaz Ali Taj on Tuesday announced the GB UoJ election will be held on January 28.
Talking to media, he said that 11 polling stations will be established in 10 districts of GB and one polling station at National Press Club Islamabad under Jafar Ali Balti, member NPC.
He said elections will be supervised by the respective office bearers of Union of Journalists and Press Clubs. In Islamabad responsible members of Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists and NPC will supervise the elections.
It will be for the first time in the history of GB to establish a representative journalists body to address their problems and uniformity among all working Journalists in GB.
While in Baltistan Division, President Baltistan Union of Journalists will supervise and give guidelines for holding UoJ elections.
In Baltistan Division polling will be held at the offices, while the nomination papers can be filed in respective Press Clubs buildings be
fore the Election Commissioners.
President Baltistan Union of Journalists, Mohammad Sadiq Siddiqui requested all the members of Union of Journalists and Press Clubs to participate in the elections.
