Peshawar: The Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has directed the provincial government to ensure the immediate and complete implementation of a judgment passed by the Peshawar High Court regarding recruitments of members in KP Public Services Commission in writ petition by Awais Khan vs Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and others.
According to an official communication issued by the Governor’s Secretariat and addressed to the Chief Secretary, the directive follows a letter from the Additional Registrar (Judicial) of the Peshawar High Court along with a copy of the judgment.
The letter states that the competent authority, the Governor has desired that the judgment be implemented in letter and spirit in accordance with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Public Service Commission Ordinance, 1978, read with Article 242 of the Constitution of Pakistan and Rule 34 of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government Rules of Business, 1985.
In this regard, the Chief Secretary has been requested to initiate and submit a panel of members to the Governor’s Secretariat as per the law governing the subject. The finalization of the panel will be carried out by the Governor, who is the competent authority in view of the court’s judgment.
The communication emphasizes that early action in the matter would be highly appreciated. A copy of the judgment has also been enclosed for necessary compliance.
