Quetta: Director General Social Welfare Balochistan, Mir Saifullah Khan Khetran on Tuesday said that under the special instructions and vision of Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti, the Balochistan government is taking practical steps for the welfare, autonomy and empowerment of the disabled through the KUMAK program.
He said that all possible resources are being used to make the disabled active, empowered and self-reliant citizens of the society.
He expressed these views while addressing the distribution of motorized tricycles among various deserving disabled people.
He said that the Balochistan government is taking serious steps to provide basic facilities, ease of movement and opportunities to live a dignified life, keeping in mind the needs of the special people of the society.
Mir Saifullah Khan Khetran said that the main objective of the KUMAK program is not just to provide assistance to the disabled but to make them practically independent and self-reliant so that they could carry out their daily life affairs in a better way and also participate fully in education, employment and social activities.
He mentioned that the provision of motorized tricycles is an important link in this chain, which would facilitate the mobility of the deserving people and reduce their difficulties.
He stated that special people are an important part of the society and it is the responsibility of the government to provide them equal opportunities adding that the Balochistan government is taking practical steps through various welfare programs to ensure this so that the disabled could live their lives in a dignified manner without depending on anyone.
In this regard, Director General Social Welfare Balochistan Mir Saifullah Khan Khetran distributed motorized tricycles among various deserving disabled people.
The deserving people who received the tricycles appreciated this initiative of the Balochistan government and the Social Welfare Department and said that the provision of motorized tricycles would provide them with significant convenience in their daily mobility and they could be able to carry out their routines with more autonomy to fulfill their needs.
Secretary Social Welfare Balochistan reviewed the process of distribution of motorized tricycles and appreciated the ongoing welfare initiatives of the Social Welfare Department for the disabled.
He stressed that the measures should be continued to ensure that the fruits of the programs launched for the welfare of the disabled reach the deserving people in the true sense.
According to the officials of the Social Welfare Department Balochistan, various measures are being taken under the Kumak Program to address the problems being faced by the disabled, enable them to play an active role in the society and improve their quality of life.
Through the program, special attention is being paid to providing necessary support to the disabled as well as guiding them towards self-reliance and empowerment.
The Kumak Program reflects the commitment of the Government of Balochistan to provide the disabled with the necessary facilities and resources to lead a life of independence, equal opportunities, empowerment and dignity, instead of just providing support.
The provision of motorized tricycles is a practical manifestation of this commitment, which is an important step towards making special individuals an active and dignified part of society.
