HBL opens new branch in Astore, announces loans under PM Scheme

District

ASTORE:Deputy Commissioner Astore Neelam Ali formally inaugurated a new branch of Habib Bank Limited (HBL) in Astore on Wednesday by cutting the ribbon. The establishment of the new branch is expected to provide easier access to banking facilities for local residents and help promote financial services in the area.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, HBL Manager for Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral said that the Prime Minister of Pakistan had expressed confidence in HBL by assigning the bank responsibilities under the Hajj Policy. He said that HBL was playing its role in providing quality banking services to the public.

He further announced that HBL would also provide loans under the Prime Minister’s Loan Scheme. According to him, individuals who maintain an active account at the new branch for six consecutive months will have the opportunity to apply for loans under the scheme. However, loan approval will be subject to the scheme’s rules, regulations and eligibility criteria.

On the occasion, it was expressed that the opening of the new branch would facilitate residents in carrying out daily banking transactions, managing accounts and accessing other financial services. It is also expected to help local traders, business owners and the general public manage their financial matters within the district.

The availability of banking facilities is particularly important in a remote district like Astore. The opening of the new branch is expected to reduce the need for residents to travel to other areas to access banking services. Moreover, financial assistance to eligible individuals under the Prime Minister’s Loan Scheme is expected to create opportunities for promoting local business activities.
