Bahawalpur: Heavy intermittent rains lashed on Friday and at night between Friday and Saturday have disturbed routine life and business activities in Bahawalpur.
Rain started lashing on Friday afternoon and intermittent rain continued lashing at night between Friday and Saturday.
Intermittent rain also lashed in the daytime on Saturday. Due to heavy pours, roads and streets presented look like canals and lakes. Even water entered houses and shops in downtown areas of the city.
Rainwater accumulated in commercial area, Satellite Town, Circular Road, Chowk Fawara, Bus Terminal, Railway Station area, Shahdara, Fauji Basti, Maqbool Colony, Bindra Colony and others.
However, the staff of Bahawalpur Municipal Corporation, Bahawalpur District Council and Bahawalpur Waste Management Company were seen engaged in draining out accumulated rainwater from roads and roundabouts of commercial hubs of the city.
