LAHORE:Ghaziabad police have arrested a man after registering a murder case in connection with his wife’s suspected suicide on Wednesday.
According to DIG spokesman,the case was registered on the complaint of the deceased woman’s father, Muhammad Siddiq,who nominated six people,including her husband,mother-in-law,father-in-law and sisters-in-law.
The complainant alleged that his daughter had been subjected to violence by her in-laws and had expressed fears for her life on the day of the incident. He accused the family of killing her and portraying the death as a suicide.
Police arrested the woman’s husband,identified as Mubashir,while an investigation into the incident was underway.
The spokesman said the cause of death would be established after the post-mortem report and investigation.
All aspects of the case were being examined,the spokesperson added.
DIG Operations Faisal Kamran said those involved in violence against women would not be spared and that legal action would be taken in accordance with the evidence and medical findings.
